Fair point didn’t realise that.

Could be a number of reasons though. Maybe Carlos is just such a good manager that clubs struggle when he leave.

lol

carlos was 'such a good manager' we started to badly struggle WAY BEFORE he jumped the sinking ship.

Carlos should have took us up automatically with the teams he had. Also enjoyed two bites of the cherry, and choked it twice.

However I think the records of the teams after he leaves have more to do with the despots who run/ran them. There’s a scary number of idiots running football clubs.

Tbf the failure and consequences of the ‘up in two seasons or bust’ strategy was already filtering down to the team by then IMO. The expectation would have been braking up the team and selling players like FF to help balance the books. They didn’t reckon on Chansiri though, who doesn’t do selling. It isn’t unreasonable to think Carlos etc knew what was coming.

Every team Carlos leaves gets relegated though, could it be his poor set up catches up on the team eventually.😁😁😁😁

Meeow...I would welcome CC back anyday, not as if the british managers have been great so far.

I don’t think we should have gone up automatically. The first season both auto teams were better than us, and we were also the weakest team in the play offs. But we had a chance because it’s a lottery.

The second season we were better relatively speaking. But we were still probably the 4th best side. Newcastle and Brighton both better, Fulham despite finishing below us had the better squad. So again, another lottery. Given Fulham lost to Reading, it was disappointing not to beat Huddersfield and Reading to go up.

But in terms of league positions we were about par for the course given the team we had. We should have been in contention for automatic that second season had we got recruitment right but that was awful after Wembley. Had we signed 4-5 quality players to improve us instead of who we did then we’d have maybe leapfrogged Brighton
