Offload dilemma

It’s a dilemma, if we can’t unload someone like Rhodes, what do you do with him? If you play him, you can’t play the way you want to play, but if you don’t play him, and things go wrong, you’ll be castigated for ignoring him Not just Rhodes, but any of these expensive signings that don’t fit the pattern of play, they just hinder the project

Worse case scenario, the coach comes under pressure to utilise them because of the price tag, thus compromising what he’s trying to achieve

You base your play on the players you’ve got, it really is that simple.

I happen to think that with Jos saying he wants more than one system we will be bringing in players that can play a couple of positions. The fullback positions could be the best solution to this as many nowadays double up as wingbacks or even wingers. Having that versatility gives you so many options with formations. For example you could easily switch from the 343 we’ve been playing to what many said is Jos’ preferred 4231. I don’t think we’ve currently got those options.
