Expanded over a whole season, this form would've seen us finish on 34/35 points (i.e., well adrift).The second twenty games (Bristol City onwards) have seen us get 35 points. Over a season, this form would amount to 80/81 points. So to say we have been in promotion form since then is no exaggeration. QPR's very own vs. REDA -England striker Bothroyd played 14 games, in which we won a total of 8 points. This form over a season would see us finish on 26 (!) points in total. Reda has also now played in 14 games. In these games we have scored 30 points. This form over a season would see us finish the season on 99 (!) points. ...So if Reda had been fit and we hadn't signed Bothroyd, we'd have won the league. Can't argue with stats.. Had just worked out that the last 19 games had netted 35 points at an average of 1.84 / game and if we had been able to average that through the season we would finish on 84.73pts.....not sure how three quarters of a point would show in the table, but it does put this season into some perspective. If we had done that for 40 games then we now be on 73 pts and in third.......lies, damned lies and statistics! Would this be the second automatic spot? If we had amassed this many points the other sides in the division would be on less then they are now collectively. Surely we need to do everything we can to keep this squad together and add a couple of quality signings this summer and we will be there or thereabouts next season. It's all part of MM's masterplan.
