torryowl Posted November 9, 2012 Share Posted November 9, 2012 we've won 2 out of 13/14, how can you say this is good enough?! atkinson didnt win any of his 1st 8 in89-90 and lost 6 of the last 7 and got us relegated ......do you think he should have been sacked ? Guest Sweet&TenderOwl Posted November 9, 2012 Share Posted November 9, 2012 It's a OUT in my opinion. I wanted DJ to succeed and turn things around and keep up the momentum of last season. But clearly things are wrong atm. Too many players were brought in, we lack last seasons fight, team spirit and despite having better youngsters, a quality keeper and a stable financial picture. We've going backwards. DJ's run has long but ended, along with the teams spirit and fight, We are playing harder teams, but our run was mostly against poor sides and teams from last season. Last seasons results count for nothing this season. In our last 13 we've only beat Ipswich and Peterborough. Two sides who are as bad as us. If you look at teams who struggle and just stay up, they still manage to beat top half teams. We're yet to beat anyone from the top half this season. Plus we concede way too many and waste too many chances and score not enough goals. Our defence as consistently been the worst or one of the worst in the division. These points on top of the fact, DJ persists with negative tactics, constantly makes excuses and seems defeatist and too calm. Adds up to the fact that with DJ in charge we haven't a hope in hell of staying up. He doesn't seem the type of manager used to relegation battles. He was brought in to get us promoted, we did that and now we're in a division he knows well but has mostly only ever been involved in top half campaigns. DJ is not what we need at the present time, to stay up and stabalise in this division. DJ is taking us back down. The sooner MM realises it and makes a change, the better. Its not working, we're not getting enough results and more worryingly we're getting beat without a fight and conceding too many goals and not scoring enough. Its nothing personal against other Wednesdayites, if we think our manager isn't up to it and that we think we need a change. Its nothing personal either against the current manager. We're all entitled to our views. Some of us can't see DJ turning it around and he doesn't have much experience of keeping teams up in relegation battles. Can't fault your logic, I would like DJ to succeed but agree Adkins would be a good option if MM feels a change is necessary and he could get a lot out of our squad. Even Semedo this season hadn't looked as busy as last year, purely because he's playing how his manager as told him to. Don't fall into the trap of blaming lack of passion, effort, desire etc. A lot of that team played last season. Plenty shown then wasn't it? Why the change? Tell you... It's the manager. He's set out the team, he's told them he expects them to do, he's got them under instructions. They're not working! Bang on! Similar team, different style/performances. The first 3 games were the best we played all season and there was 8 of last seasons players in the team. If you lifted your head up long enough from blowing Dj you'd notice.
