RUMBELOWS91
Didn't go tonight but it seems Bothroyd started wide again? Looking down the results tonight players like Marlon King, Charlie Austin, Jordan Rhodes and Glenn Murray all did the business. Wasn't Bothroyd supposed to be our front line striker who would do the same sort of job? Is DJ bottling it a little bit by not sending Bothroyd out to stand up and be counted up front? Is he scared to let Bothroyd be judged on his goal return? Surely Bothroyd wasn't signed as a wide man was he? I Heard Jones talking on RS earlier about not swapping and changing, but isn't Bothroyd moving into a wide position a knee jerk reaction to him not getting goals? Time for Bothroyd to be put up top now he has his fitness, and time for him to be judged on his goal output IMO.
@owlstalk
NO He's playing Bothroyd on the wing so he can play COG up front in a 4-5-1 (ironically as many fans were screaming for that earlier in the season) Owlstalk Shop

Madine, COG or Bothroyd?
NeonLeon
Doesn't cut the mustard out wide atall. He was surely sign (with his past record in mind) to score goals. COGba played out wide in a 3 for Rochdale and had one of his best seasons goal scoring wise. Before we right Bothroyd off all toghether. He should be stuck uptop as the main man (like Taylor-Fletcher did tonight) and just load him up with chances. Playing him out of position is killing any threat he has. Can't understand why he enjoys playing wide though??!

Why not just say " hello everyone were hoping for a clean sheet and possibly nick a goal " were sh17 at it there. Every time a ball came in there were no strikers on the end of it . The reason being it was a striker crossing the f*****r in . Is a symbolic formation that isn't working as our strikers aren't where they should be which is in the area looking and showing for the ball . We were dire today and apart from a couple of games we have been clueless with no one on the end of anything . It was sh17 tonight totally and utterly sh17

What wasn't happening on Saturday was that if we had the ball in a decent wide area on the left Bothroyd wasn't joining in in the middle- most of the time Antonio/Jones only had COG to aim at. It's criminal for me that in a 4-3-3 we rarely have 2 forwards in the box when there's a crossing opportunity on the left hand side- this is where Bothroyd playing there isn't working for me. Essix Blue
Is it possible we're playing 4 5 1 because defensively our midfield isn't up to it?

Its like going back two years when the most people in the opposition's box was one . The only players we seem to have that look any good are ones we had last year ( barclay excepted ) none of the new arrivals are pulling up any dandelions never mind trees . Tonight was passionless and gutless . Were playing in the same manner now as we did when we got relegated last time . We fought tooth and nail pretty much every match last year with few exceptions . This year they're turning up jogging around a bit and no matter what the score doing f**k all about it . I am rarely this critical but that was ball*x
