Although my membership is not due to run out till November i received a new membership card this week along with the thanks for renewing letter etc.

I also pay the subscription of someone else through my paypal account, and sure enough upon checking my payments and details on paypal it does indeed say this payment was for the othes persons renewal, as their membership number is shown on the confirmation.

Any info of which W/ITE official i should be contacting to get this error corrected would be appreciated.

Apologies for that - the problem is that when checking the Paypal details it does not always give us the information you provide. That is why we have recently moved to a new system whereby you can join/renew online - http://www.wednesdayite.com/join

This will prompt you to input all your details for each purchase, so these sort of errors can't happen.

If you email me at eddie.hoyland@wednesdayite.com with your membership number and details then I'll be happy to rectify this error!

Is the common knowledge?

First I've seen about it.

Up until now we have been honouring renewals - however the overhead in processing these and our lack of control in 'cancelling' any regular payments means we have had to move to a new system.

This should only affect a handful of members and has been notified on the Wednesdayite website since we moved to our new membership system.

I couldn't find the actual bit of the Wednesdayite membership that subscriptions should be cancelled thats all. It's a pretty important thing and individual members should know IMO

I think the one renewal date is a great idea and a way of easing the renewal process for everybody (especially them thirsk residents). I assume that the one hit of income from memberships won't be an issue.

The subscription payments through Paypal no longer apply as we have switched to a new system and a single renewal date. This was first reported in the email newsletter sent out at the beginning of August.

The new arrangement for the single renewal date is shown on the web site in the join/renew section but as Jowl says, the web article doesn't mention the Paypal thing but it is reported in the latest newsletter emailed to members this week.

Please contact enquiries@wednesdayite.com if you have any further questions.
