33
If you play well you can't expect to keep your place in the starting line up. You see others doing less well keeping their place. You watch as we stick rigidly to formations and tactics that don't suit the players we have. When someone makes a mistake you don't see any offer of support. You keep being given limited opportunities as substitute and even though you do well, you are on the bench the following week. You watch as promising talent is ignored whilst established mediocrity is persevered with and wonder if you will ever get a chance in the team. You listen to the man slate his own fans for having an opinion and state in the media that he isn't going to listen... You see the Gaffer fail miserably to defend his Captain when booed by his own fans. You wonder how, despite the poor performance, how any manager would hang one of his team out to dry. You wonder when it will be your turn...! You wonder why you bother... So little promise, so little opportunity, so little development, so little support, so little tactical acumen...! You wonder how to play with confidence when the man has driven virtually every sense of hope out of a loyal and supportive fan base... You watch as he turns the fans to despair and who in turn might unreasonably vent their frustration at you... You wonder why you bother... It s getting harder every week to lift yourself... The promotion dream is fading fast... You wonder why you bother... You wonder why you should lay down everything you have got for a leader that that offers you so little. A man that offers so little at a club that offeres so much... Leadership doesn't work like this...! TIME TO GO...!!!

Guest mrbluesky
No leadership on or off the pitch says it all, when we cant even decide on a captain
i used to be sc_owl
He should have gone after the Huddersfield capitulation. That night at Hillsborough was one of the lowest points for this club. Seeing us so completely outclassed... I believe that was also the first match after Irvine talked about the value of coaching badges?
ReadingOwl
Great OP. In brief - Heffernan. Sums it all up for me.
