Beholder
I do think we should get better cover since we currently don't have an adequate like for like replacement for hutch. But both Lopez and Mcgugan can play alongside Lee easily. It's only this rigid adherence to the idea of a defensive shield player that stops people considering it. coreyswfc
In all honesty I would play palmer in the middle before Semedo. Palmer has always wanted to play there and should be able to do a job. You do realise we're trying to get promoted?
SiJ
So you'd drop Hutchinson then? Get a more attacking player in etc.
Beholder
So you'd drop Hutchinson then? Get a more attacking player in etc. Clearly not what I said.
SiJ
Rigid adherence to a defensive shield player... So your logic is that when we are at full strength to have a holding midfielder, but when he's out we shouldn't bother. When will CC be getting you on the coaching staff? torryowl
just seen highlights from yesterday and as crap as jose may have been( i make no judgment ) he was the one who started the move for joao´s goal because he was sat in mid-field and thats why you have a defensive mid-fielder ....... Random Task
Why the insistence on this tactic that has resulted in our best team for decades? Edited November 29, 2015 by Random Task
SHUowl
There comes a time when you have to pick your best players. Lee & McGugan could play together no problem. But like Gerrard and Lampard? Screw the system and just force your best where they can fit?
SiJ
Why the insistence on this tactic that has resulted in our best team for decades? I know - flipping outrageous. We have a system which currently sees us lying just outside the play offs on goal difference, yet apparently we should do away with a pivotal part of that set up because of Beholder's football snobbery. Lopez and McGugan are better footballers, more pleasing on the eye, so solely on that basis they should play. Just nonsense.
theowlsman
Sod the defensive midfielder, defending set pieces properly is a bigger priority . Turner will come back in for Loovens to make all the difference.
