Why this insistence on a defensive midfielder?

Recommended Posts

I do think we should get better cover since we currently don't have an adequate like for like replacement for hutch.

But both Lopez and Mcgugan can play alongside Lee easily.

It's only this rigid adherence to the idea of a defensive shield player that stops people considering it.

Rigid adherence to a defensive shield player...

So your logic is that when we are at full strength to have a holding midfielder, but when he's out we shouldn't bother.

When will CC be getting you on the coaching staff?

Why the insistence on this tactic that has resulted in our best team for decades?

I know - flipping outrageous.

We have a system which currently sees us lying just outside the play offs on goal difference, yet apparently we should do away with a pivotal part of that set up because of Beholder's football snobbery.

Lopez and McGugan are better footballers, more pleasing on the eye, so solely on that basis they should play.

Just nonsense.
