Poke in the eye, no harm done. Still, agree concussions in football should be taken seriously. Everyone knows about Jeff Astle, but there are dozens and dozens of old footballers suffering with this. Hopefully the rule changes (less leading with the elbow for headers for example) and better footballs will help (although they travel faster than ever these days). scram Posted December 24, 2019 Share Posted December 24, 2019 Obviously not every bang to the head is concussion However there is s very compelling reason why concussion is taken so much more seriously these days We recognise it more, we see it more and we know the consequences of multiple concussions and especially 2nd impact syndrome - usually fatal.
