Norwich have done well this year, and Rhodes got a few goals, but I'd be amazed if they thought "lets spend a few million on him as a fourth or fifth choice forward" if they go up, or if he has made any other championship teams think "Rhodes still has it at this level, we should have him here" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gurujuan Posted March 21, 2019 Share Posted March 21, 2019 Looking at the way Bruce set up in recent times, he mainly operated with one mobile central striker, Abraham at Villa, and Hernandez at Hull. They’d be supported by two wide players, usually another striker on one side, and a more orthodox winger on the other. We don’t have the personnel to set up this way, so if Bruce manages to get the front players he wants to play the way he played at Hull and Villa, quite a few of our current forwards won’t get a look in. Would we need a Fletcher or a Nuhiu in that system? Maybe we’d keep one for a Plan B. Also, it’s hard to see how Rhodes or Winnall would add much to that system, so it might be a busier summer than we first thought. More likely, this will be achieved over several windows. Would Wednesday be able to continue paying part of his wages? it might depend on how much of a cut he would be willing to take to get first team football.
