Blackpool pubs

This is from FGG

weatherspoons will be a good shout

Popular with away fans is the Old Bridge House pub on Lytham Road. It is only short walk away (walk down Bloomfield Road towards the sea front and then turn right into Lytham Road and the pub is down on the right) and has screens showing Sky Sports.

Nigel Richardson a visiting Hull City fan recommends the 'No 1 Bar, which is a Working Mens Club, that is adjacent to the away supporters entrance to the ground on Bloomfield Road. It was very welcoming and admits away fans for a small fee'. Steve Gardner a visiting Gillingham fan informs me; 'A good family pub close to the ground is the Waterloo in Waterloo Road - genuinely family friendly except in the games area. Clean, comfortable and friendly; Sky TV on large screens and reasonable, inexpensive food'.

Steve Lumb adds; 'Another good pub is the Wetherspoons pub called the Auctioneer on Lytham Road, near Blackpool South Station. It's about 10 minutes walk to the ground and serves cheap beer and brilliant grub.' Otherwise there are plenty of pubs in Blackpool town centre to choose from. Alcohol is not available to away supporters inside the stadium.I

I went in that working mens club a few years ago. It was alright but nothing special. Cheap ale though

Castle near town center is a pub lots of Wednesday fans head for, landlord is from Sheffield if its same one has last time.

They had a DJ on and he played a few Wednesday tunes, hi ho silver lining.

A bit closer to ground walking from Castle pub (A5099 Central Drive) is King Edward which is usually full of Wednesday fans.

Last season we were told the Castle was the only boozer in the town centre where away fans were allowed.

We were in all of them over weekend.

Blooming well expensive them drinks in Castle, the Wetherspoons Albert and the lion weren't cheap either.

Manchester, lager 3 and half quid a pint in a plastic glass and flat.  :duntmatter:

Was a better atmosphere in Castle than it was at Match.
