igm1
Norwich 8 Leeds 10 I know this off by heart- some have said it so many times on here I think they'll end up having it on their tombstone.
Orlando_Trustful
Think they lost 9 and 10. Weve already lost the same as Swindon lost all last season who finished 5th I think.
TheGodfather
2009/10 (1) Norwich 95pts L-9 (2) Leeds 86pts L-10 2008/09 (1) Leicester 96pts L-4 (2) Peterborough 89pts L-9 2007/08 (1) Swansea 92pts L-8 (2) Nottm Forest 82pts L-8 Keep in mind though that as things stand, only one team this year is on target to break the 80 point barrier based on points-per-game (Brighton - 87pts projected), so be careful when comparing stats from this season against previous years... alfonso123
On the other hand, in 2004/5 Hull lost 12 games and finished second. We also lost 12 games and finished fifth (an impressive 14 points below Hull) I really wouldn't put too much emphasis on it.
Cpt_Hatstand
As he said, It's about how many you win, not lose. When going for promotion draws aren't much better than defeats. The fact we've drawn very few is a great omen Edited December 19, 2010 by Cpt_Hatstand
Cersei
i have tried disecting stats but this season is too odd in league one and with SWFC, it is as mad as a box of frogs at the moment because.... teams this year are poor, us and southampton should be the big teams sitting in the top 2 but we are both playing rubbish so there are less points up at the top than for the last ten years we have lost a lot but not drawn very much, we do not have many losses left on the surface but we may win a lot more than usual with less draws this perticular league one table for the gamnes so far looks very different to the usual pattern, leaving us all scratching our heads and confused with nothing to go on, ask any Wednesday fan what there heart tells them and they will say we are looking at scraping in the top 6, and we used a lot of our play off luck last time around. a new manager and 4 new players however could send us on this 12 game unbeaten streak we need to undo the wrongs so far so again, confused and nothing to go on as we do not know who will be playing for us or managing us in a months time, or what kind of set up we will be taking into the play offs, stats are useless this season for league one basically

Chris E
You can look at the stats as much as you want, but the fact remains, we are still sitting in 2nd place at Christmas, just three points off the top. It's all relative against what other teams are doing. Yes, teams have games in hand on us but they won't all win their games in hand. I'd guess we might be around 6th or 7th after the games in hand are played, but we have a decent couple of games now to push ourselves further away from the teams below us before they play their games in hand. Previous years can only be used as a guide. There are always seasons that buck the trend or don't comply with the expected stats (though this year isn't quite as unique as you make out - barring Leeds who were well out ahead on 46pts after 19, the top 8 or 9 are on similar points this year to last year). What we can do though is compare ourselves with our rivals this year... Have a gander here

There are no fewer than 10 (TEN !) teams who could catch us if they win their games in hand. That's almost half of the entire division. Now of course it is impossible they will all do so, but they don't need to. In real terms, 6th or 7th is probably accurate. And that is simply not good enough. When you take into account how appalling our form is against the top teams this season, having to navigate three games against them in the play-offs looks an unlikely route to success for us. You're right. 6th or 7th isn't good enough and we haven't played well anywhere near regularly enough. I'm not debating that. But people are talking as if we've got no chance. The fact remains, we are still more than in touch with the top of the division, and with the prospect of strengthening an already strong squad for this division we still stand a very good chance. As poor as we have been so far.
