nevthelodgemoorowl
Alan Warboys got better and better the further he moved away from Hillsborough. So on a mild spring night I went along to the Lane to see if Warboys could but a dent in the Blunts promotion hopes ...Cardiff lost 5-1. He did hit the post though not with a shot, he just collided with the post.

I used to kick a ball about with his lad in the park sometimes as he still lived in the town, often frequenting The Buxton Arms which was my local. Came to a few training sessions and battered everyone all over the park, didn't take any prisoners even in training. Last time I saw him about 2 years ago (still in Goldthorpe) he was on crutches and could barely walk. Love stories like this (not the crutches bit obviously).
