swfc-dan
The game seemed to change when we changed shape bringing off Bazza for Adthe. Can see Monk's thinking in that he wanted more height for set pieces but the 2 up front did not work at all and suddenly we were on back foot the rest of the game. The 4-3-3 worked very well up to that point and feel we should have stuck with it and just avoided so many needless fouls (Cardiff were throwing themselves to the floor everytime though probably Warnock's advice). Problem is our subs options aren't really good enough. Pelupessy was needed then if we wanted to replace Bannan but he's not really good enough, and Murphy was shocking again. striker
Yeh, not the changes I was expecting. Understand the rationale, but never going to work IMO. Not a Nuhiu fan, sometimes bouncing the ball off him works, but Murphy was never going to make an impact against a physical team like Cardiff. Bar an inadequate ref, dodgy free kick and wilful ignorance of clear offside interference by Flint, we would have had 3 points though.
should know better
Cardiff on top from 55mins, BB went off on &75. Cardiff exploited our right side in the main Reach Palmer and Luongo. The centre backs and Hutch were being asked to do more than their fair share. Edited October 18, 2019 by should know better spelling
S1Owl
Bannan n Harris were playing well, bad move by Monk to take them off..
