Guest wilyfox
We're crying out for a Wood or Vaz Te.
gurujuan
If it's gonna be loans, it really needs to be someone in until the end of the season. Milan says we wouldn't be relying on loans. Well he was wrong, we're here again
S36 OWL
Gary Madine. Had he chance, not good enough................ good pub league striker , no better than that .

Guest wilyfox
Of course it'll be loans. We know that. Gray more or less said as much yday. Extend McGugan & Drenthe, and try to ponce a striker from above; that'll be the extent of our efforts in January. Obviously, should either of those two not stay with us, we'll seek loan replacements. We won't buy anyone.
S36 OWL
Here we go..... Madine is scoring goals and wins headers. He's our player. Instead we play that lump He is scoring in the pub league , where we know he can score, but he aint good enough for the step up. Thats been proven Players always find their level ,and the pub league is Madines. If the best we can hope for is Madine up front we will never progress . S36 OWL
Funny how this thread never appeared after the last 2 games. The striking problem at Hillsbro isnt a new problem , its been a major issue for years ,and has never been sorted.

True, but even for a club with little money, there was a raft of quality players available on loan in the summer. If we expect to compete in this league,we have to be a bit more imaginative in our recruiting
Geörge Whitebread
Nuhiu looks like he needs a rest. His work rate is visibly dropping game by game. May is working had enough to keep his place. He's also doing a much better job of competing with Championship defenders now. Plus we're seeing more from his link up play as his confidence grows. It's just a shame he's so sheeite in front of goal. Lavery looks lively, so a decent option from the bench. We might be better with Semedo coming into a 3 man midfield, and playing Drenthe and Maguire a bit further for the time being forward though. Now that we have McGugan, Lee & Maguire playing OK, and Drenthe up to speed, it's painfully clear that we desperately need two new forwards in January! Jackie Sewell
Just think back to the difference Wickham and Fryatt made, albeit for a brief period.

If we expect to compete in this league,we have to be a bit more imaginative in our recruiting I agree we need a striker and should have got one in by now but I cannot remember this raft of available strikers. By available it suggests they have signed for somebody else in the championship and not many have. Bamford went to Boro, Sagbo to Wolves and did nowt , more recentley Danny Graham and I am sure there might have been another couple somewhere but I have not seen that many this season compared to previous. More players seem to be happy to sit on their bums and pick up the cash. Most of these who we hear have "turned us down" have not joined any other clubs eg Wood , Maynard , Vaz Te, all just sitting on their bums so not really available
chad
Clarke has scored all his goals in league one for Cov, Chessie etc. He's bang average in the Champ, gets shown up for what he is, a league one player. Sounds like a certain Gary Madine
