swfc261279
I will set this up over this weekend Nice one! We discussed the "logistics" of flag design etc with John Rutherford yesterday, in all honesty there aren't many places left on the kop where a traditional large flag could be displayed. We are considering a long banner style flag that could be hung along the diagonal barrier running along the "scar" of the kop from in front of where the band are to the middle of the kop. Initial thoughts on design are either just a slogan (like the ones permanently displayed at Man United) or a giant blue and white scarf with images of Wednesday legends in blue on the white sections and an owl in the centre. We are NOT particularly bothered about having reference to "Wednesday Ultras" as the name seems to divide opinion. We will get some measurements at the ground on Monday but I'm guessing that dimensions would be around 1M x 10M. We'll also need confirmation from John R regarding the location and obviously confirmation that it wouldn't block anyones view. This is the flag supplier that has been recommended to us http://www.barmyflags.co.uk Neil, you will probably have your own thoughts on how to set this up but I reckon there are enough talented folk on here to come up with a range of designs that we can then have a vote on? Guest Deleted member
How ironic that the 'Ultras' were launched as the new face of 'positive' Wednesdayism... but have kicked up more fuss and upset about a flag than anything else in this particularly crappy season... Guest normyowl
Just been watching two rugby league games on Sky and there was plenty of flags on show. One ground was the KC Stadium where Hull City play and the other was the JD Stadium where Wigan play. So what is our problem regarding flags? Or is it someone trying to justify a job in the banning? You dont have to go as far as hull, or even watch that other game they play with the funny shaped ball. this was the scene at the Keepmoat at todays Donny v Palace game, you did not need to buy them either, as the club were giving them away to supporters as they arrived.
