FAO The Players

Recommended Posts

At least one of you read this site;

If you love Alan one bit as much as you keep bloody claiming too, go and flippingprove it tomorrow and save his flippingjob!!!!

Tensions are high between the fans and the staff, if you lose us our chance for a big big match tomorrow against Hereford there really is no way back for Alan and maybe some of you!!!

Keep the ball down and show the shirt the respect it deserves and you WILL win this game and every game as we cruise to promotion!!!

Good luck

If you really think about these words, clear your mind of the baggage and latent disappointment-anger-despair...etc; if you can try to look at this situation objectively, these words by Rudyard Kipling, are so apt. If you are Alan Irvine or one of the players, please heed these words....

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,

Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,

And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;

If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with triumph and disaster

And treat those two imposters just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,

And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-throw,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings

And never breath a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;

If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,

And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

~Kipling

Don't let the b@stards get you down - is another worthwhile message I think!

Keep your chins up, keep your heads. Focus, concentrate. Don't let the ridiculous mood swings of the crowd (me included - I'm very much part of the idiotic mob while the adrenalin & emotions are flowing on matchdays!) affect you. DON'T PANIC!!! When we're all moaning cos we're not 4-0 up inside 10 mins, just keep playing the safe ball. Keep possession and make sure Hereford know they're going to football school. Lumping it up will just play into their hands. Pass it backwards, sideways, diagonally, whatever keeps possession. Possession football is key tomorrow.

Potter can pass it wherever he wants for me. As long as he finds a Blue n White shirt and someone (including him when necessary) makes themselves available for the next man to pass to, sideways/backwards is fine. Keep the ball moving, find space, give n go... all that jazz!

Patience from the supporters is the key to possession football. If an opportunity to make a forward pass is missed, leave it, there'll be another chance - as long as we keep possession. Wasting possession is the biggest issue we have. The players we've got are easily capable of better and they need to cope more with the crowd's jeers. But why not play our part.

A good early goal help to settle things down. I'd love to hear a few ole's along with strings of passes. Come on boys, you know you've got it in you!

Not much wrong with the message, it's how you present it.
