Beevers is simply not good enough for this league, he has no-one to blame but himself, he is responsible for his own development he simply does not learn so will never get better.

Spurr has found his level, he is not a left back, his tackling and defensive judgement is non existent.

Purse is a journeyman centre half who will be a rock one week and get found out for the next four.

We simply need a whole new back four, not an easy task halfway through a season!

And that sums it up. We've been outplayed by everyone apart from MK Dons, Hartlepool and Brizzle. With this squad that is criminal, EVERY bunch of fans in this league would love the squad we have, but oh, what's that? We've looked like poo poo all season? That's down to one man. The man the players are taking their instructions from. Mandaric needs to get rid of him before he wastes his money in January.

agreed, ive been banging this drum for a while now, when we win we have largely been lucky than bossing games. when we have lost - we havent imo deserved a thing from it, losing isnt nice but if we had 10 shots, or smacked the post 3 times and still lost then at losing isnt as bad. the two simple facts are irvine is clueless and the every team we play is up for it and more often than not want to win more than us

for me both of these points are solely down to irvine. if the players are inconsitent, and 6-2 last week to 1-5 yesterday does show this - then some blame goes to the players. BUT, take Purse consistently being poo poo and giving away a good 2 chances per GAME, then it is the managers job to drop him and same for any other player, not to just sticvk with it. Is Hinds quality? no, but could he do a job at centre back or right back (rather than playing a left footer there?!) - yes, if Irvine had given him any kind of game time to keep him fit and so as not to completely wee wee him off.

it is also Irvines job to get the players motivated and yet so often you see other teams home and away sticking in tackles, working hard when they lose it and showing up our team.

to outsiders sacking him it would look a bit odd, being 2nd in the league. but we have lost 8 league games already and almost all of them have been pretty dire watching. IF we had won even 4 of those we would be sitting pretty at the top. What would a Brighton Charlton or Huddersfield love to have even two of Mellor/Clinton/Miller/JJ/Coke/ or even Heff who will get goals but doesnt get a look in - he has brought in the right playesr for me, just cant get them to perform.

We are some fans so keen to pin it on one guy?

Purse isn't the reason are midfield are awol - that they get behind the ball but don't pressure it - he isn't the reason Beevers makes some infantile decisions (decision making is invariably what puts a player at their level) - he's not the reason that Tommy rareley gets nearer his wide player than you or me - and probably has been guilty of allowing more unopposed crosses than any defender this century - yesterday we conceded 5 and there was the usual furore about how poo poo Purse is - but out of the 5 goals he was 50% to blame for one of them - yet the outpouring would suggest he slammed all 5 into his own net.

And it's a recurring theme - and how he's responsible for Beevers turning to poo poo (not unusual for young guys to have a dip after a promising start) and Tommy turning to poo poo (he has been poor since before Purse signed his last Cardiff contract but hey ho)

It's no way all down to Purse

exactly .. i couldn't agree more. its the scapegoat syndrome. the purse bashing on here is ridiculous. Purse cannot ... CANNOT cover for Beevers AND Spurr and then try and sort his own game out .... its nigh on ludicrous that people are slating him, blaming him for all goes then demanding he's dropped from the team or the squad completely.

the problem lies with the tactics that we are playing, and the individuals themselves. Purse is at fault for mistakes sure, as most players are .. but for people to be blaming him for Beevers being flipping gash and Spurr declining is insulting ..

people seriously need to get a grip and look at the bigger picture here

I dont accept that Irvine is soley responsible either - these are professional footballers, if you are constantly getting beat at something, you would hope they would naturally adapt to deal with it. what bothers me is that we need maximum points from december to be in control of our position in new year, and the lack of fight seemingly on show from some players yesterday..

purse - too slow, gives away too many free kicks and doesnt organise.

Jones - not a full back - stick him on the left wing please

Spurr - totally lost his confidence, probably for his own career needs to be moved on now.

Beevers - needs a centre back partner who will organise, spends most of his time watching purse

Buxton - stick him at centre back when hes back, one of our best players this season and we are missing him

Semi - decent enough going forward, suspect in defence

Hinds - must be on his way in january.
