KivoOwl
U16's drew 1-1, a late equaliser by Wednesday. U18's won 2-0, second successive win, Nick Wood and Mukhtar Mohammed scoring. James Cottingham and Liam Palmer were only subs, Charlie Tunnard, Nathan Modest and Tom Hall still injured, Vadaine Oliver looked a real handful up front though. And Max Wragg is bigger than i thought, and has a huge throw in.

dfoster
Cottingham and Palmer look promising to me - do we know if they're subs on basis of poor form or is it resting etc? Btw what's up with Modest?

Guest Bannister
1.Arron Pratt 2.Max Wragg 3.Jason Mok 4.Tom Connelly 5.Nick Wood 6.Jamie Hadfield 7.Leon Lekaj 8.Callum Harrison 9.Vadaine Oliver 10.Ashley Worsfold 11.Mukthar Mohammed 12.Danny Kirkland 14.James Cottingham 15.Liam Palmer 16.Pat Meehan didnt go to the match, but 'heard' Oliver, Wood had a few chances to increase the score, so sounds like the lads did really well. Oliver was the only 1st year to start & stay on for the full match, Palmer and Cottingham got on for about 6 mins. Modest is injured and so is Barnett. Bet the lads will be well up for Man U next weekend.

Guest Bannister
Wednesday Under 18s gained their second win in as many weeks by beating their counterparts from Bolton 2-0 at Middlewood Road. Wednesday went close twice in the opening blows, first through a Leon Lekaj free kick that glanced the bar and Vadaine Oliver, who was unable to beat the Bolton keeper one on one. Wednesday restricted Bolton to long range efforts, and duly got the opener they deserved through Somalian Mukhtar Mohammed. A chipped ball forward from Max Wragg was teed up to Mohammed by Ashley Worsfold and the former long distance runner finished coolly from 12 yards. Bolton had clearly become frustrated by Wednesday and their discipline was on the wane. Arguments and cursing at one another were rife, in stark contrast to the way Wednesday were behaving, no doubt down to the tuition of Sean McAuley. Wednesday extended their lead in the second half. Captain Nick Wood (younger brother of Richard) flicked a Callum Harrison corner home to secure the win for the Owls. On reflection this was a good team performance by Wednesday against a poor looking Bolton side (bottom of their respected division.) There were many impressive individual performances too. Full-back Max Wragg again looked composed, strong in the air and dangerous going forward. Nick Wood and Jamie Hadfield looked solid at the back. Callum Harrison, Tom Connelly and Mukhtar Mohammed ran the midfield and makeshift strikers Ashley Worsfold and Vadaine Oliver didn`t look out of place. The real test for McAuley`s youngsters comes next week though, against Manchester United. Kick off is 11 at Middlewood. http://www.sheffwed.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=148358
