I recalled this story from Richard Sparling's book "Romance of the Wednesday" concerning Wednesday's search for a new ground when forced to leave Olive Grove at the end of the 19th Century. Amazing that 10,000 fans voted in the poll and no surprise their wishes were ignored by the club ! I dug out this map showing where the possible sites for a ground in Carbrook/Attercliffe.
