Six o'clock already

I was just in the middle of a dream

I was sipping on a martini

By a beautiful English stream

 

But then I woke up

To reality, what a shame

Derby County's failed again

And they're the ones to blame

 

It's Wanky Wednesday

And the Rams are feeling blue

They couldn't make the playoffs

And they don't know what to do

 

Their players are out of form

Their tactics are all wrong

And their fans are all forlorn

'Cause the season's been so long

 

Wanky Wednesday

I wish it was Sunday

'Cause then we'll see them lose again

And that will make my day

 

I have to catch an early train

Got to be at work by nine

But I can't help but chuckle

At Derby's lack of spine

 

It's Wanky Wednesday

And the Rams are feeling low

But at least they're not my team

'Cause that would be a massive blow

So confident in his team's grand plan
He vowed to cover himself in poo
If they didn't get promoted, bit by bit

The Rams had a good start in League One
Fans were happy, their hopes had begun
But eventually, their form did dip
And fans started to lose their grip

The last game of the season was near
Against Sheffield Wednesday, so dear
A win was needed to make the playoffs
But alas, it ended in great loss

Michael Smith scored a penalty kick
And with that, Derby County fans grew sick
The confident fan, with a heavy heart
Knew he had to fulfill his crazy part

He declared he'd live stream it all
His vow to cover himself in poo so tall
He'd do it for the team he loved so much
And hope that they'd return with a victorious touch

So with a heavy heart, he did the deed
Covering himself with waste, indeed
His love for the team, unwavering and true
Hoping they'd do better, next season anew.

BridportOwl was browsing Owlstalk late one night,
When he stumbled upon a thread that made him ignite,
A Derby fan had vowed to cover himself in poo,
If his team didn't win, it was a promise he would follow through.

BridportOwl was struck by inspiration,
To write a poem that expressed his frustration,
He wrote, "Derby is a dirty little sh1thole,
They don't like fishcake, they prefer rissole.

Their bitter tears taste so sweet,
Let's all have some ram to eat."
The poem was crude, but it hit the spot,
For BridportOwl and his fellow Owls, it was quite a shot.

Derby fans were up in arms, they didn't take it well,
But BridportOwl stood his ground, he would not quell,
His love for his team and his disdain for their rivals,
Was something he couldn't hide, it was in his survival.

So he continued to write, to support his team,
And though some may find his methods extreme,
For BridportOwl, it was a way to vent and express,
His love for the Owls, and his disdain for the rest.

In the end, it was all in good fun,
A bit of banter between rival fans, just begun,
But for BridportOwl, it was a way to show,
His love for his team, and let his passion flow.
