Low Flying Owl
Went to see Oxford United v Spurs U21 in the Checkatrade Trophy ....marginally better than Holby City or Mrs Browns Boys. The lowest Spurs shirt was "45" and it went up to a highest of "79".

Redfern Froggatt
I can't find any evidence of it but I always thought Julian Watts used to wear number 40 for us because he wasn't the brightest
Musn't Grumble
Ossie Ardiles, legendary attacking midfielder, wore #1 in the Argentina squad that won the World Cup in 1978. The Argentinians listed their team in alphabetical order and allocated numbers 1-22 accordingly. Ardiles was the first name on the list. I can't recall an outfield player wearing #1 since although I wouldn't be surprised if this happened somewhere.
