Wasn't trying to be a smart arse mate, I just have personal experience with these kind of things. It depends on the extent, injuries etc. Obviously if someone loses teeth or gets a cheekbone fracture then it's a GBH which becomes more serious, but a common assault is an extremely minor offence and isn't punished very well, unless, like I say, you really do hurt someone.
