SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 1966 WEMBLEY CUP FINAL SHIRT

Ok so forget the result for a moment. Despite Wednesday going 2-0 up we still lost the game but let's look instead at the shirt that the Owls wore on the day.

 

Whilst fans and players of SWFC went home disappointed the legacy of the white shirt continues.

There's something about Sheffield Wednesday in all white that just looks right. Look at the Bukta one we posted in another thread in this section for another example of a great football shirt but simplistic and pure white.

 

Excellent stuff.

 

This is a fantastic pure white shirt with an embroidered blue club emblem and the words 'WEMBLEY 66' underneath the Owl.

TOFFS have done a fantastic job here of producing this as it's identical to the ones worn on the day at Wembley, and even though there's little to this simplistic design they have nailed every important aspect from the collar to the badge.

Whilst it might not be the shirt that brings up the happiest memories it's certainly a shirt that looks great even in modern day. It's aged well and looks fantastic.
