BIG D Posted February 2, 2012 Share Posted February 2, 2012 I went to Hirstys Bar last night and all the guests were in great form but I really enjoyed listening to Mel. When he mentioned his England cap against Saudi Arabia in 1988 it took me back to an event I went to for his testimonial (I think) which was at a hotel in Rotherham on the same night. It was a gentlemens evening - a very funny, filthy, racist (it was the 80's) comic and three strippers who did there own stint with a bit of audience participation. Following a collection bucket being passed around the room they reappeared and did another spot together with further help from some of the audience. I ended up at the back of the room stood next to a couple of players of the time. I remember I was busting for a pi55 whilst the comic was on but daren't go to the bog because he was absolutely destroying everyone who got up. There was a raffle for one of Mels shirts which I was desperate not to win because I think the ladies were giving the prizes out. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
