malek Posted April 25, 2011 Share Posted April 25, 2011 It should be obvious to everyone who knows tiniest bit about football that Mellor and Madine have different roles in our team. Mellor is spending lot more time in that "danger" area in front of opposition's goal, and as result gets himself in lot more scoring opportunities. If you compare shoots on target ratings, and shots that results in goals scored, I believe that Madine will show up with better percentage. We look solid at the back, good up front... it's just our midfield now that is the problem... and this may be controversial to some/all on here but I think Darren Potter is a technically good footballer, he just needs to have a beast of a ball winner next to him, and with all due respect to JoC (can't fault his commitment or work rate) he's just too slow.
