The Dukeries Owl Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) What DJ has done is not necessarily buying bad players (with one or two exceptions) What he hasn't done is bought a good team, hence the tinkering with players and formations. We also have this over preponderance of left sided defenders which crept in under Irvine and has not been addressed since. Bennett, Johnson, Jones, Mattock, Gardener, Llera, Beevers and Reynolds. 8 for christs sake of which only 2 max should really play at once! and not one decent left back among them. Add to this 3 right footed wingers and us appearing unbalanced shouldn't really be a surprise. As a later footnote with 3 right footed wingers we play a left footed centre forward on the right wing! my god!
