Guest impailer
I am really suprised to see how many people think cog is our best striker. work rate is 100% yes but he does not posses the attacking instinct that a striker should, it is all good having a high work rate but he is not scoring often enough, the main reason for this is he is never in the position that a goal scorer should be, he can not hold a ball up, turn with it, second touch is always a tackle, never makes runs to dangerous areas. cannot see how madine is not getting in the side. Guest Fedor
do we really need another thread on this?
Guest wilyfox
O'Grady divides opinion. He works hard, terrific ethic, strong as an ox, decent touch and turn. Sometimes he'll put one away with a surprisingly good finish - and then miss the simplest of chances. If he had Madine's confidence and close range finishing ability, he'd be very useful indeed. DJMortimer
I don't believe that O'Grady is our best striker. But when you say he doesn't score enough goals this season... O'Grady 5 Madine, Maguire, Bothroyd, Rodri (combined)

Guest impailer
cog aint got 5 in the league he has 2, when you consider that madine has had last ten mins in most games he has featured, maguire aint featured hemmeroyd plays out of pos on the wing and rodri has played bout 3 games n scored 1. Guest impailer
you cant just say he pulls defenders all over but its a shame he int more prolific a striker needs to strike the ball, cog hardly ever shoots cus he is more bothered about putting his arse into the defenders nuts

Oh, so we're going down the route of filtering the arguments until you get the result you've predetermined? If you want to stick to just league goals then O'Grady has still got as many (3) as the other four put together. Appearances this season : Bothroyd 11+0, O'Grady 10+7, Madine 7+9, Rodri 5+4, Maguire 3+1.
Mas
madine would have more goals if he had started as many games as cog id play both of em tbh
Guest impailer
when wa last time cog made an attempt to get a shot off at goal?? he never looks a threat where madine is a natural finisher and everytime he plays we look more dangerous atleast madine gets into the box rather than going and standin next to the winger
Guest Fedor
O Grady has been our best striker this season, wether we played 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 Edited November 10, 2012 by Fedor

DJMortimer
dj mortimer u must be in the 90% what dont go to games or the 5% what have not got a clue about football I'm suitably chastened Sir Alex. By the way, the 'you don't know about football' response is about as spurious as it's possible to get considering that every player, chairman and manager are routinely criticised by plumbers, bus drivers and layabouts almost every single day of their careers. You don't think it's slightly embarrassing to your case that you criticise O'Grady for not scoring enough goals when he's scored as many as the other four at the club put together, even after you tried to manipulate the outcome?
