barmyowl1212
I'm still waiting for pub info!!! barmyowl1212
M1 Roadworks are Jn 13 to Jn 10 - 50mph average speed check all way through Can be a nightmare Mon to Fri but anytime if there is a vehicle breakdown. Same with M25 anticlockwise round to Heathrow. Spent 1.5 hours in a queue at 9pm on a saturday night which was caused by one car breaking down Advice keep an ear on the Travel News and divert if necessary on to A43 to M40 if you get the chance - nothing on at Silverstone Even after that you can go through MK, and A421 to Bicester - brings you to the M40 but that takes ages There are other routes down through Mk to Aylesbury then Beaconsfield then M40 Jn 2 or 3 , but quite slow - only use if M1 / M25 are clogged Saying that it really shouldn't be bad on a sunday morning Famous last words..... Guest mkowl
Yep I thought that at 9pm on a Saturday With the wife following me in her car Her petrol warning light flashing - why was my fault obviously And her ringing me every 5 mins shouting abuse at me Lets say I wished I'd gone the M40 route that time Edited September 4, 2010 by mkowl

Guest East_Dene_Owl
Though I've just been looking on map and Shepherds Bush doesn't look all that far away which has a Wetherspoons. Maybe our driver might take us there if we're good.
Guest Fulham Fox
Lot of gonads in this thread. Avoid central London. Down M1 then M25 them M4 which then becomes A4 to central London and passes by Brentford's ground. Do not over-complicate. The New Inn is the away pub. I live in Ealing and that is definitely the best route. The M4 goes past the ground, as stated. The Griffin is definitely open at 10am, spoken to them. It's by the away end. 33
Griffin is 50 yards from away end, but told by local Postie it is home only. New In as the Fox has siad for away fans. I will be stepping out of Prem Inn post breakfast, straight across road, 20 yards up snicket, turn right then r0 yards, turn left. Away turnstiles approx 300 yards on right. After game, pick up bag from hotel, bus to nearest tube and back to Euston for 1630 (1530 if I'm lucky) train back to Preston. Should be home for 7pm (6pm with luck) UTO

My link I regularly make this journey in reverse (Brentford-Hillsborough-Brentford) and this is by far the quickest way to go. It is longer, but you spend more of your time actually moving instead of sitting in traffic.
owllincoln
We set off at 7 and was in Macdonalds in brentford just over 2 hours later. Went a1 and north circular and zero traffic! 2 more hours to kill now :)

owllincoln
:) seriously the a1 was clear and so was the north circular. I am sure as it gets later the roads will get busier though.
