  1. This is what happens when a governing body makes the laws up themselves, to me the EFL have messed up massively with us from FF through to the embargos and DC has had enough. Gibson and the like think they carry weight but in reality they don't they are small fry these days. DC and other foreign owners are business people who are successful for a reason, they will play the game for so long before striking out. Most governing bodies are just an old boys network that think they can do what they like, I'm afraid those days are numbered, the FA are going through it now and FIFA and UEFA have been smashed by the legal authorities already. I suspect a lot of clubs will be following this intensely and the EFL know it. We are not too big but we are big enough and bring substantial money into the league along with Leeds, Forest and Derby etc.
  2. The EFL need to tread carefully after the Bury debacle. There would be public outrage if the EFL were responsible for putting another club out of existence so I don't see expulsion being an option. This has come about because Gibson is crying but I can't imagine him getting joy from other chairman because he's had his parachute money and blown it. The EFL has to "investigate" but as they signed off the accounts if there is wrong doing at the time they should have seen it. Therefore they at best look incompetent and not capable of governing the football league. The EFL need a competitive division and by letting the EPL clubs just yo yo fans will not watch it, us, Leeds, Derby etc. have made it more competitive, have decent crowds and brought in characters that the TV companies like and fans like. If they start heavily punishing those clubs then the EFL loses its appeal. I think we will have a robust defence and come to an agreement with some sort of suspended punishment, which shows that the EFL have "investigated" and that there has been punishment.
  3. Not sure why anyone would rather Wednesday lost than England win, I'd never want us to lose. Love rugby (both codes) cricket, F1 ..... I don't think it's a coincidence that at the top level of most sports there is a level of high education, probably down to facilities, rather than criticise maybe we should expect those same facilities in all schools. I was back in Sheffield recently and saw that more of my old school (Chaucer) had disappeared, I remember playing rugby where there is now an Asda, we were a decent school side with a few of us playing and training with the eagles, what a shame that doesn't happen anymore. last weekend was awesome this weekend could be even better Wednesday win, England and Lewis world champions. Also beat NZ this morning in the 20/20 great time to be a sports fan C'mon!!
  4. Couldn't have summed it up better mate. It's been a great tournament with tough rugby played in a good spirit. Football could learn a great deal from rugby at all levels. I've played both codes and loved it along with playing football and cricket. There are no rules telling you what you can and can't watch or play give it a try! Watch it in a rugby club if you can tomorrow you will have a great time. UTO
  5. pretty sure my mates lad will get one. Mind you I think he wants an away shirt too. Oh forgot he's a Chelsea fan I am currently trying to convert.WAWAW
  6. I must admit that the Bristol game was my first match since Wycombe but the true fans that were sat near us on the North were just as clueless about football as I remember.
  7. Like thousands of other wednesdayites living away from Sheffield you get out of the habit. I stopped going regular when I joined up in 91 and when not deployed lived in the Southwest. I've been outside for a couple of years and toyed with getting a season ticket but despite living closer (Northamptonshire) I just have other stuff to do at the weekend. I went to the Bristol game and I'm genuinely exited with what is happening at the club. I am going to the Arsenal game and taking my mate and his lad who is a Chelsea fan. He has seen England and Northampton play live so is excited about this so I'm glad there will be 7997 extras pluss us to create that extra atmosphere. Enjoyed watching us on the telly yesterday followed by some great rugby and looking forward to seeing us on the telly on Friday too. Hope that anwers the OP question WAWAW
  8. Agree is comments about the Lee penalty shout were ridiculous, any player in that position would've gone down. I didn't mind him in the past so much but today he was a bit of a joke.
  9. I don't mind Birtles normally but he was pointing out everything we did but conveniently missed some of Hull's fouls etc. Thought his reaction to the wall crossing the line was laughable.
  10. He was poor for both teams, couldn't believe how many handballs he missed, but bottled a few biggies for me again for both teams. Hutch probably should have gone but Hull weren't shy with the nasty tackles and could've had more cards. Thought the linesmen both had good games, the offsides were close but called correctly.
  11. Not sure whether Forestieri and Joao will face a tougher defence this season and both looked threatening throughout the game.
  12. Thought we looked good and apart from a few minutes first half and the first 15/20 of the second we were more than a match for them. we will continue to gel and I'm not sure there will be many midfields as good as Hulls visiting Hillsborough this season.
