Shame he went off to the desert for the dosh.

 

At the time it was a huge blow to England. Revie was a top manager with a mandate to mould an international side around key players like Keegan. His 1976 European Championships failure revealed the cracks in his thinking at international level and we didn't qualify for Argentina 78. He must've known now he wasn't really up to it despite his club successes. So he went for the money

 

FA pi$$ed off as the fuddy-duddies were left in the lurch and we were out of the 78 World Cup,a second miss in 8 years. Terrible times as Scotland were better!

 

 

It was over 40 year ago. Revie's passed on. It's ancient history. What's the point of apologizing now.
