torryowl Posted November 20, 2017 Share Posted November 20, 2017 strange fact wylde scored his 1st goal in 1972 and his second one in 1976 .......cant remember if he had a bad injury but he hardly played for the 1st team for nearly 3 years after his debut . He was only 17 when he came into the side and he only did then because we had injuries to Prendo (as usual!) and David Sunley. It seems odd, in retrospect, that having scored his first goal against Millwall he was promptly dropped (Sunley was back from injury and looked like being a world beater back then) and didn't get another game for two years. It wasn't really until Len Ashurst came that he was given a decent run. I remember feeling absolutely devastated when he was sold to Oldham. I remember feeling absolutely devastated when he was sold to Oldham. was a good player but he lost out to andy mac, spider , and TC .....just looked up his record that last season played 15 and scored 8 which you'd think would have got him a regular spot but it didn't so wonder if summat went off with big jack .
