dunsbyowl
This one is well known and has been posted before I assume this one is Olive Grove also - though could be the Olive Grove stand at Hillsborough. Obviously a another massive crowd, park fences round the pitch, look at that linesman! those steps wouldn't get past today's safety group and you can just see the end of Wednesday FC painted on the roof ( looks better that a faded Presto on the West!) Guest GrahamHydeFanClub
Wonderful. I'd like to think that the 2nd photo was Olive Grove but until its 100% confirmed I'm not getting excited. If it is, then I'm over joyed. Just a shame more photographs were'nt taken in those days, although they may have been but have been lost over time. Guest GrahamHydeFanClub
A modern day shot from the same vantage point, if possible, would be great for comparison.
dunsbyowl
Interesting to note it actually reads "Sheffield Wednesday F.C. and not "The Wednesday F.C." on the roof !
KivoOwl
It is Olive Grove, and that player is Fred Spiksley.
DJMortimer
linesmen should still be made to dress like that today I like that. Edited September 23, 2012 by DJMortimer
