Did we really have any urgency today?

We get a throw in and we slowly walk up to it...

Kirkland was ready to throw the ball out but and most players had the back towards him and slowly walking forward..

We had nobody busting a gut to get into the box, many times when on the attack we had ONLY Bothroyd in the box surrounded by 4 defenders.

There is no quickness with anyone, it's all slowly, slowly..

When the opposition have a corner we had EVERYONE back even when losing 2-1 - what the flip was that about?

so if the ball was cleared it just came back because we had nobody up there to chase it down or hold it up.

yes - all that was painfully obvious. Bolton did a job, we struggled again to create and breakdown a team who seemed to know what their game plan was. I thought ours was to get to half time at 0-0, but another slip of concentration fooked that up.

But the thing is when losing opposition can't stop you from leaving a man or two forward at a corner..

They can try to stop you taking a quick throw in but you have to have urgency to get to the ball first..

They can't stop you making a run from midfield into the box...

If you have your back towards Kirkland when he is ready for a quick throw out - that's not Bolton's fault.

We cause our own problems, we are just not quick enough to do ANYTHING!!

the lack of movement for throw-ins is a pet hate for me. no-one offers themselves to the thrower - players should be providing a couple of outlets. as for lacking urgency, when we're in possession i think it's just the opposite - we try to go from back to front too quickly and end up losing the ball as a result. with players like Barkley and McCabe in the side, we should be looking to retain the ball alot better. defensively, we still can't mark4shite.

The team spirit we had last year has gone with so many new comers . We go a goal down and absolutely nothing changes , last year if we went a goal down the team just hammered at the other side until they caved in .

Agreed, when we had a settled side if we went behind they all encouraged each other to pull their socks up and get the goal back. Now they all look at each other like strangers. We are not a close knit group at the moment on the field and it is reflected in the tempo of the play.
