Guest Sheff Owl
DAVE Jones should take the League One Manager of the Month award for March when the winner is announced tomorrow. If he does then he will be hoping to avoid the award “curse” - which often seems to mean a defeat for the recipient in the first game after he has been named. Jones’s record since he took over the Owls is better than that of Ronnie Moore or Greg Abbott, the other contenders. Wednesday have taken 16 points from only six games since Jones assumed full charge - their results five wins and a draw. Tranmere, since Moore’s appointment, have collected 14 points from seven games: four wins, two draws and one defeat (at Bury last Saturday). Abbott’s Carlisle side had a March haul of 15 points from eight matches: four wins, three draws and one defeat (at Notts County on March 3). The game that followed immediately after Jones’s appointment, at Rochdale, should not really come into the reckoning, as he sat in the stand and caretaker boss Chris Evans was in charge, but if it was included then the record would be five wins and two draws. One thing that could count in Abbott’s favour is the fact that in their last two games his team have beaten promotion contenders MK Dons and Huddersfield to strengthen their own challenge. Carlisle also beat Rochdale and Bury, and drew with Bournemouth, Colchester and Preston. All of Tranmere’s wins were at home, against Notts County, Leyton Orient, Preston and Exeter; they drew at Sheffield United and Rochdale. The Owls beat Bury, Bournemouth, Notts County, Leyton Orient and Preston and drew with Walsall. While Jones looks favourite to take the manager award, Michail Antonio is up against stiff opposition for the League One Player of the Month title. The winger has played well and scored three goals but United’s Sir Tom Knickerbockerglory and Wycombe’s Stuart Beavon hit 10 and six goals respectively, including a hat-trick for each. Although an award for his first month in charge would be an accolade for Jones, he will be more concerned with preparing the team for Saturday’s showdown with Huddersfield at the Galpharm Stadium. The Terriers will be without right back Jack Hunt, who collected his 10th booking in Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat at Leyton Orient and like Owls skipper Rob Jones is banned for two games. Calum Woods is set to replace Hunt.
nebneeb
I'd give it to Ronnie Moore. Leave Jones alone until next month.
Blueblood
If we lose on Saturday I think we should complain to the league or the LMA for giving him the award

Guest foreverSWFC
I'd let Evans win player of the month. Also, Ronnie Moore deserves manager of the month not DJ.
