RobHowe
one thing I never understood in the draft system is say at 3 quaters of the way through a season you are 3rd in a group/league of 4 with no chance of winning anything. what stops you from deliberatley loosing all your final games to come last and get the better draft pick? my lack of knowledge of all american sport, although I do quite enjoy watching it is massiveI'm not sure how it happens with other NA sports, but in the NHL they have a lottery for the last 5 placed teams.Essentially there are 15 'balls in the bag' - 5 for the last placed team, 4 for second to last, 3 for 3rd to last, 2 for 4th to last and 1 for the 5th to last. So whilst you stand a better chance of drawing a better 1st round pick the lower you finish, there's no guarantee.
