sherlyegg
Stolen from SM --In the 1951-52 season Wednesday played Nottingham Forest on Christmas Day at Hillsborough, kick off 11-15 am. The trouble was the buses did not start running till 11-00am. Derek Dooley had to walk from Firth Park to the ground. The match earned a place in club history the 61,187 was the biggest gate for more then ten years; a post war record for the second division. 45mins before KO the gates were closed, leaving thousands locked outside. It was 9d (about 4p) to get in. In todays money about £1.00. Gone up a bit to get in now but that's another thread/s/s/s Edited February 11, 2016 by sherlyegg
