Geörge Whitebread
That's all well and good, but a football team that never looks like scoring ever again is not worth watching. That needs addressing, and fast!!! We've been poor before, much worse than we are now; but at least we've always had an outside chance of scoring, even if we were almost definitely going to concede more. So far this season, I've seen over a thousand minutes of my team attempting to play a game that I once thought was entertaining, and I'm yet to see them score a single goal in open play (live, that is, I've seen the few we've scored as replays). I don't know if we'll ever score again! We're SHlT, absolutely diabolical to watch! There's no way of dressing that up. Forget the current league position, forget the defensive record, forget the numerous buIIshit excuses; we're awful to watch and will probably be relegated if something doesn't change. I've got a ticket for tomorrow, but I'm not going to waste my time. Edited November 28, 2014 by George Whitebread
GY-owl.4
we are a NEARLY team at the minute, were not sh!tt... as turgid as its been at S6 this season were not, Weve got a reyt solid base & spine for things to be really good. solid defence, good solid DCM player in front, and 2 young lads up top in Lavery & May ready to burst into goals, but unfortunately the rest of the side JUST lacks that little bit extra. Im not gonna $lag players off, i dont mind Maguire Maghoma Helan Lee etc, i just think out wide and in ACM we lack that bit of quality to make the difference which the like of Watfords/derbys/forest have - in abundance! A major overhaul isnt needed is it, just some quality tinkering, tho as ive seen on ere, everyone already knows that! hence the public outcry!! its harder to take when its close.... if ya $h!te you can take it cant ya!! GY-owl.4
the Lavery & May point is another topic altogether, and because things aint happening for us on the pitch right now, its obviously not being mentioned.... i know lots on here dont rate either one or the other, or both!! I rate both highly. when was the last time we had TWO such promising young strikers? for anyone thinking im over hyping Lavery, listen to his I/V on audioboom, its quality,he over-hypes himself more than i do, FWIW if these two play regular for us up top over the next few years i think we will have a bright future... our ings & vokes, If we sell any of them after 1 good season ill have a fit - well hopefully not, but ill be mad. these two lads are my banker on our 150th year being a REAL year to remember. @owlstalk
Here's how I see it Milan bigs up the season and promises to be challenging : This is to sell season tickets and home shirts We exceed expectations when we start the season, leading to unrealistic expectations from fans as to how successful we can be with this current squad We sign Stevie May and the fans treat him as some kind of 'David Hirst' legend figure before he's even kicked a ball then start to wane in enthusiasm after he struggles to hit the net regularly enough Stuart Gray is simply shutting up shop at the back and making us impossible to beat, to aim for safety in the division. Nothing more than that. Just stopping up. And that's the only way he can do it, keep his job, and keep Milan happy. Lavery will come back into the side under intense pressure and either do really well or struggle with confidence in front of over expectant fans and disappear into obscurity Madine may be recalled, sat on the bench, get mardy about it, and fans will get on his back about that too. Rumblings of new potential owners looking to buy the club won't come from real actual new potential owners, but PR companies and third parties paid to do those sorts of things, or club rumours to local journalists to stir up interest in a world where nobody really wants to buy us. There will be promises of loan players in January and we might well get a few. The worse we are doing in the league, the more loan signings we will get That's it..... It's nothing more complicated than that. Seems some fans haven't sussed it out yet still Owlstalk Shop
