alanharper
26/9/1964 - we beat Wolves 2-0 at Hillsborough with goals from Colin Dobson and Tom McAnearney to go 6th in the top flight. Not significant at the time, but this was the last time that we beat Wolves at home which is quite staggering considering the number of times we've played them since, mostly when they weren't really much better than us. In the last 50 years our home record against them in all competitions is played 15, won none, drawn 8 and lost 7. We've come close a few times, notably a last minute equaliser for them a few years ago (the game Simek got sent off, or rather McCarthy got him sent off), Bartman missing a last minute penalty in the cup which led to a replay and that shocker of a shootout, and we were 2-0 up on Boxing Day in our 90-91 promotion season until Harkes got sent off and they pulled it back to 2-2. God I hate playing Wolves - they even beat us 3-1 at Hillsborough on the day my first child was born (I still went to the match!).
31Dec1966
It is an amazing statistic, especially as, they've never been any better than us. I can't think there is anyone else we haven't beaten at home in those 50 years (don't say Rushden, even though it's true, we only played them once)
