WENT OUT FOR A WALK

I have small but very encouraging news. As the title suggests I went for a walk up to Stannage Pole yesterday and halfway up bumped into a small group of conservation workers. They were doing serious landscaping up there, digging out natural culverts and replacing fencing and putting in traffic calming boulders.

I got talking to the group of 6 with out of town accents to learn they were all from the Edale area. We commented on the beauty of the area and one of them had a throw away remark about the dump down the hill, pointing at the City which was clearly visible. I said "careful that's my City" a bit of banter followed and a couple of the guys got onto Football. They asked which team I supported and revealed that the two of them were occaisional visitors to Hillsborough and added with anticipation that they had decided to go for season tickets for the first time ever next year as they think it will be quite exciting now Milan Maderic has come in.

What a fillip that gave me on my walk it put a spring in my step !
