The positive differences

Recommended Posts

Wallace. On the left, and so much better. Yes, he doesn't really have the pace to take a man on anymore, but at least he can cross without having to bring it back on to his left first.

Joao's performance. Not too pleased to see him line up on the right, but I thought he was excellent today. Played more centrally after the break and looked a threat there too.

Abdi. Not that it was an amazing performance, but it was just great to see him on the pitch. And he did play quite well too, coming into the game very effectively in the second half. Would be very pleased to see him get a run now.

van Aken. Before Hooper's injury it was interesting to see the number of times he brought the ball out of defence, which was great to see. Great shame he had to come off, but...

Pudil. Is now a centre back. Not necessarily as first choice, but barely put a foot wrong when he came on and looks so much more comfortable there.

Physios. So interesting to see them very quickly signal for the substitutions today. Have they been instructed to take no chances with the players today, and not 'encourage' them to play on?

Hooper's injury. Would be ghoulish :ghoulguy: to call this a positive, but along with van Aken's injury what was positive was that we didn't just fall apart as a result of having to make early substitutions.

Pre-game huddle. Love it! That can stay (at least until we start losing again).

Of course, there were many good and noteworthy performances today, but these were the things that stood out as being particularly different from the other games. Really looking forward to Brentford away now!
