Wynyard Owl
It’s not much fun walking round Meadow Hell on a Saturday afternoon when the Owls don’t play again until some absurd and inconvenient timeline I get it that the T V moguls have virtually changed our game from a sport to a money making event by juggling the kick off time and day to suit themselves ,and that he who pays the piper calls the tune i would always take in a live game as a spectator over one on the goggle box and might choose a non league club to fill in. Sheffield or Hallam may be worth a visit But, I remember the Central League, second team reserve games played at home when we played away There was a game on most Saturday afternoons for those unable to travel with the first team we have age related sides now that may include first teamers or trialists instead of playing their matches mid week or behind closed doors iMO these games could be played at the week end This would encourage supporters to attend, to miss Meadow Hell and encourage the up and comers to better things it may also bring in a bob or two extra
