Guest Davidlythgoe
Hi, I have what I think is a bread knife ( 13 inches long) from the fa cup final 1935. It has an engraving on the blade and the handle has 2 blue stripes diagonally across it with an FA CUP engraving on it. I've seen only a few of these but only butter knifes so I'm assuming it's pretty rare. It has 3 small burn marks on the handle but apart from that it's in really good shape. I have no use for it so If any one is interested give me a shout. My email is Dshank2521@googlemail.com if you want any pictures I can email them over. Guest Steve French
The knives were presented to directors by W H Walker, secretary/manager for the 1935 FA Cup Final and originally came in a presentation box with a compliments slip. There was a butter knife and a bread knife, not sure how many were made but I've only ever come across a mint bread knife in box with slip once but seen a fair few of both knives over the years that have sadly been used and damaged. Saw a butter knife in OK condition sell on Ebay a while ago for £20 odd quid, no box or slip though.
