Owls expanding events programme

Sheffield Wednesday is developing an exciting new events programme alongside community partners to provide a series of high quality entertainment activities.

Following last week's announcement regarding Sheffield Wednesday's official partnership with The Children's Hospital, Sheffield, the club has implemented a new strategy to create a more ambitious programme of events, both in the local community and at Hillsborough on matchdays.

More partnerships with community groups and local charities are currently being worked on and further details of these will emerge as we move forward.

Having been approached by an external partnership already engaged in corporate hospitality the club has decided to outsource events management.

The partnership engaged by Sheffield Wednesday is a not-for-profit organisation that will drive several projects within the club and out in the local community including those associated with the Children's Hospital.

Club chairman, Lee Strafford, said: "It is important that Sheffield Wednesday has an ambitious approach to community events as well as those taking place at the club. We are keen to implement significant improvements in pre-match and half time entertainment as well as developing meaningful community events.

"The partner we have brought in to work with the club will deliver value for Sheffield Wednesday and our brand. I have been impressed by their plans to expand and enhance club events and the skills and experience they bring to the table."

Once details of these projects have been confirmed with our community partners and other charities the club will release full details on the official website.
