Injuries

Richard Hinds is making good progress from the broken leg he suffered at Wolves and could return in the New Year.

Frank Simek suffered a grade two hamstring strain against QPR and will be out for four to six weeks.

Etienne Esajas broke his toe against Rangers and will also be out for four to six weeks.

Wade Small is recovering from an eye injury but should be in contention for a place in the squad that faces Blackpool on Boxing Day.

Jermaine Johnson is expected to be out until the beginning of January 2009 with medial knee ligament damage.

Akpo Sodje continues to make progress from a hamstring strain sustained at Derby but is unlikely to be available until late January.

Liam McMenamin is out with a groin injury while Peter Gilbert has an Achilles injury but is nearing a return.

Leon Clarke pulled his hamstring ahead of the Cardiff City match on December 20 and is a doubt for the Blackpool match on Boxing Day.

Francis Jeffers (groin) and Steve Watson (hip) should both be in contention for a Boxing Day return.

Nathan Modest hurt his knee in training on Monday (December 22) and will be assessed in the coming days.
