Sheffield Wednesday Gala Dinner 2009 will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Hillsborough Stadium in the Foers Lounge.

The evening will become a major fundraising event for the Club. The Executive Gala Dinner will be attended by the manager and first team players. The evening will be an extravaganza of first class entertainment followed by an exclusive auction. Upon arrival you and your guests will be welcomed with a champagne cocktail reception drink followed by a tantalising five-course gourmet meal.

The club is proud to welcome on this evening; one of Britain's most likeable comedians and impressionist Duncan Norvelle who's catch phrase 'Chase Me' made him a household name.

During a career, which began in the tough training grounds of working men's clubs, the 17-year-old Duncan Norvelle took the knocks and the praise. After winning £20 at a talent show in Bournemouth Duncan decided this was the life for him. Despite his flirtatiously gay stage persona, he is actually married.

With his safari suit, ultra camp act and natural infectious smile Duncan was a familiar face on TV in the early eighties appearing on various TV shows like 'Saturday Royal', 'Celebrity Squares', 'The Des O'Connor Show', 'Through The Keyhole', 'Banzai' and a game show 'Stupid Punts'.

As well as been a funnyman, and impressionist Duncan has another, perhaps less known asset, which is his golden voice. He uses this to great effect at the end of each show, surprising many of his first-time audiences. Duncan Norvelle is definitely one star that has chased and found stardom.

The itinerary includes:

7.30pm Champagne and canapes upon arrival in the Foers Lounge and meet the players.

8.00pm First class five-course gourmet meal.

9.15pm Exclusive auction lots.

9.45pm Comedian - Duncan Norvelle.

10.30pm Raffle Draw.

I am sure you will agree this will be an outstanding Sheffield Wednesday evening of glory. The Gala Dinner is open to adults only and is priced at £399 plus VAT for a table of ten guests accompanied by a SWFC player or £43 plus VAT per person.
