Wednesdayite meet with the club

Recommended Posts

Somewhat of a positive response regarding operational matters.

SWFC additon of 2 new board members had pre-empted the W'ite proposals. not much of a surprise but maybe the proactive nature of W'ite's proposal can be credited with getting the SWFC Board off their back-sides and taking action.

Overall, it looks like a platform for a working relationship between W'ite and SWFC. Let's hope so.

Who from W'ite attended?

Following the adjournment of last week's meeting, Wednesdayite confirms that our meeting with Sheffield Wednesday resumed on the afternoon of Monday 22nd December 2008.

Representatives from Wednesdayite met with SWFC Chief Executive Kaven Walker, Sheffield Wednesday Ltd Director Ashley Carson and were also joined by new PLC Director Lee Strafford in what was a very productive and positive session.

Discussions centred around the proposals recently submitted to the club by Wednesdayite, including our discussion document regarding securing investment into the playing squad.

Our document was welcomed as a positive contribution although the specific investment suggestions we put forward have now been superseded by the new investment plan being overseen by Mr. Strafford. It is hoped that some local participation will be sought as part of this plan.

Wednesdayite's operational suggestions were well received and will be looked at in detail in relation to the operational business plan which is being developed.

The next stage in the collaborative process between Wednesdayite and the club is to formalise the communication and discussion process. Meetings to work together on implementing operational ideas will begin early in the New Year.

Its a bit of a nothing statement really.

How about the members now getting a copy of the original letter.

How about a bit of detail and not the broad statement as above.

As a member i would certainly like to see that.It does seem though that things are starting to move in the right direction.

Well you know what to do then you moaning fookers , Get of your arses and put yourself up for election to the Wite board .

I for one am quite happy that they put in all the time they do to represent the members also i am aware that it is impossible to release every word of every meetings that they have , I am sure that the new contact and bridge building would quickly colapse if the Wite board plastered everything discussed over the tinternet .

Merry Christmas .

The supporters trust are a disgrace, what have they done these past few years to make the board answer for some of the shambolic decisions that have been taken? sat on the fence and believed every word Geoffrey told them, first they try to get Bates in then proclaim Geoffrey and his staggering investment is the way ahead only for them to have backed a fakester.

Get yourself on the board then and actually contribute something to the club instead of flipping moaning all the time .

There is no point as the directors only carry the wishes of their members.

Since January this year Wednesdayite seems to have lost some of it's transparency with members. First we lost the published Board Minutes. Now Wednesdayite statements to it's members are becoming more and more vague. A list of proposals has been put to the SWFC Plc board and Wednesdayite member haven't a club what 90 percent of them are. First we were going to ask fans and local businesses to raise to raise £1m and then for some reason it went to £10m. All members know is what we've read in the press.

Given the results of the last members survey, I think most members will welcome the positive and hopefully cordial relationship that is developing between the Wedensdayite and Sheffield Wednesday Plc. However if the current Wednesdaite board want keep/increase the current level of membership, then they must keep members up to date what issues/topic that are under discussion. Wednesdayite is becoming like the Trade Unions of the 1970's. Invited round for beer and sandwiches, doing secret deals in smoke filled rooms and then getting me members to vote on them.

The new Wednesdayite chairman has got a lot of hard work in front of him/her, both in getting Wednesdayite back on track and keeping/stimulating membership interest.

Did you attend the last members meeting/AGM when the content of the letter was discussed?
