Fat Sid, Bathtub and Tommo

Remember the Man ure game and the battle.

The only other team to have a go at the Kop were Millwall during their famous F Troop days.

A group of them managed to get onto he Kop and then get hemmed in at the top corner. There was a battle before the OB escorted them away to the leps. Remember a couple of them, A huge Black guy with a full lenght leather coat and one wearing Bay City Roller pants.

The battle in the Leps lasted the whole game.

Yeah I remember that game against millwall. there was only about 40 of them but they weere game for it. Pompey did the same once aswell. Bar for Man utd game worse one I remember was against birmingham in the 71/72 seaon. They came on the kop mob handed and we couldnt shift em. there was fighting in all areas of the kop all way through that game

I remember the Man Utd game well. Me and my mate both went on the Kop not realising it was full of Man U fans!

We were 14 at the time and stood towards the back on the South Stand side. Kept going nuts every time we scored (just couldn't help ourselves) and considering everything that kicked off (had a great view from where we were) we were lucky not to get our heads kicked in. But what a great game, and we got to see it all again next day on Yorkshire TV!

Also remember the incidents mentioned with Sunderland, Forest, Boro, Millwall and Grimsby.

Never got involved in the hooligan thing, but remember several of the characters mentioned because you just kept bumping into them if you went to the away games. Tommo was sort of considered the leader of the Kop in those days, Geordie was always around saw him quite a bit and the last time I saw Bathtub was at Brighton in the 75/76 season (last away game of the season - we drew 1-1). We were on the seafront and some Brighton fans were looking as if they might have a pop at us (fortunately they didn't), and Bathtubs comment was " for f**ks sake don't run if they charge cos' I can't keep up with you (he must have weighed about 20 stone or more at the time)!

Forest got shifted just before kick off when a lad known as Carrotts led the charge up the back ramp of the kop.

A couple of Forest fans also ended up in the don that day!!!

As for Leicester, that was the 70/71 season. They didnt even last until half time, getting a birds eye view of the pitch half an hour before KO!!!

Remember Burnley getting on the Kop early doors and being chased off just before kick off, think it was the one when Leighton James scored that screamer

Thats exactly the same game. Burnley were right on the top hump of the kop and got slaughtered. Even the Star called it a rematch of Sitting Bull V Custer

middlesbrough also went across the pitch in 73 but they were a bit tastier and lasted until half time. Theres a photo of them legging across the pitch in that book I Hate

I can never remember our bacon striped neighbours having a good go at our kop, correct me if i'm wrong

Can't remember them ever having a go. Unlike the EBRA who regularly would be found on the Shoreham end. I remember a county cup game and an Arsenal FA cup tie when there were 100's of us on the Shoreham. Don't condone it but it was part of growing up and you didn't mess with the EBRA.

Russian Warship.... Go fxxk yourselves.

League games, league cup and numerous County Cup and testimonial games, we were always on there Kop, until all seater stadiums came in

They have never once tried to take the middle of the East Bank. From 66 onwards they would sneak in and mass up right at the very top of the kop and stay there

Never ventured down towards the middle and try and move the Wednesday mob. Pathetic really

JIBBER was a former Hells Angel and used to hitchike to all Wednesday away matches, complete with ruck sack and bottle of whisky. Then he would "jib" a lift ( another version of cadge) usually on a coach for the journey back.hence his nick name He was one the 100 or so crazy lads who took on 10,000 Man utd fans on the East Bank in 74 and came out unscathed

GREBO

Became well known on the Kop from about 1970. This was during the first skinhead era.But "Grebo" was a biker/greaser/grebo

MOUSE

No idea!!!!. But he certainly wasn't a "mouse" when the need arose as it often did in the 70's!!

JIBBER JOHNSON A HELLS ANGEL I DONT THINK SO !!!!!!!!!HIS REAL NAME WAS VIVIAN SO NO WONDER HE GOT HIM SELF A NICKNAME BUT THERES NO DOUBT HE COULD NECK A YARD OF ALE IN ABOUT 5 SECONDS.

Tony curries testamonial,i remember it vividly,we got on the shorham end pretty early, wed met up in town, went in,in small groups, the older guys co ordinated it all,me and a mate were threatened with"you run,and youl be dogmeat next week!"

We eventually massed around the point thier boys normally stood, and suddenly, out came the scarfes, and up when the call to arms "THE WEDNESDAY!!"took the OB by suprise, they gave it a go taking it back, but by then, the numbers had swelled, and they couldnt shift us,loads of scrums and rucks, half time in and around the boggs was a battlefield, throughout the game the chant "WE TOOK THE SHOREHAM....EASY EASY!" was used to entice them back, but the cops kept us both apart.

Id heard a song, the previous season in a pig game at man utd tauting Currie, and i started to sing it,it was very quickly joined by the entire throng of owls "CURRIE WEARS A TAMPAX" rang out,the recipient looking less than amused on his big night

Wed stood with a lad id stood with many times at games, from darnall i think,i only knew him as toomai, his name was from some obscure tv programme of the time, elephant boy i think it was.
