Arthur Bach
I'll keep this simple. Sheffield Wednesday Football Club should contact Beres Butchers and create a site within Hillsborough to sell those orgasmic pork sarnies they flog around Hillsborough village. We'd make a fortune and they could even make them throughout the game and walk around the stands selling them to fans. Perfect.
Weshallovercome
There's probably a daft rule somewhere that wouldn't allow it due to upsetting the Muslim faith or summat. Good idea, although you dont need to be a rocket scientist to improve the catering at Hillsborough.

Lilys pork sandwiches are terrible. Cold cheap meat on over buttered cobs. Beres dip in warm dripping and dont skimp on the meat. They could do one size for £2 a pop. Weshallovercome
They sell sausage rolls don't they? I might buy one if they've started putting meat in them. It was a poor attempt at irony btw.

markowl
To be fair, when I walked down Herries Road for the Barnsley match I wondered why the Beres shop itself wasn't open. They could have made a fortune, so maybe their commercial department is as good as ours!!
Brownlad
I think if/when we redevelop a stand at hillsborough we should contact some one like KFC Burger King McDonalds Subway etc.. about them taking a couple of kiosks in the redeveloped stand. Could provide us quite a bit of money doing something through a bigger franchise rather than the local one suggested. I dare say it would cost us a couple of quid too... The Beres idea is a blinder IMO
Guest Nutters
Chains like that will charge for the "privalage of their brand name" been associated with the company its incorporated in. Places like KFC spend millions on finding Ideal sites etc and hold a "exclusivity areas" with each of their franchises, which is another thing that would scupper the idea. KFC has something like 75% franchised stores McDs is around if not over 25%-50% franchised. Subway is close to the 90% franchise mark. So an entrepreneur has enough over heads in setting up one of these chains let alone thinking off putting one in Hillsborough...the original idea is still the best

But yeah that was my point - you can't just open up a McDonalds and everything is fine and dandy... you have to pay for it, that's the way a franchise works. Plus you would have to pay a set amount AFAIK which wouldn't be justified considering it's only open what... once a week? Other stores like subway, KFC etc are open 7 days a week probably for a good 18 hours a day, sometimes more sometimes less... The Beres idea though. Blinder. edinburghowl
Only just seen this. Excellent idea if it can be done. The food at Hillsborough is awful so I always get a pork, apple and dip sandwich from Beres. More money the club loses out on.
