Are people really going to renew their season tickets?

It is never going to happen, someone will always step in and take over the club and therefore the season tickets will be valid.

Your doomsday scenario means no SWFC football ever again.

Really? SWFC were within 30 days of going out of existence with previous money troubles, whilst i dont agree that the Chairman can/will 'just walk away' and wash his hands etc etc, the right time to BUY a Club,if you were interested, would be now.....(and  their have been interested partys,we are told)?

Let’s be honest, a small very vocal minority have no intention of going to games anyway, very rarely have, and will continue to find excuses, DC the latest. The vast majority of the fanbase want change and quickly, but the constant sneering on here at those who support the actual team, is getting tiresome.

Nice change of agenda there, but ime not falling for it...opinions differ and those who are saying they wont renew and encouraging others to do the same, are offering up a course of action that many simply do NOT wish to do.......FINE

When i said wasnt going to attend S6 because of the sort of antics that were happening ,even whilst we were still a Championship side,I got pelters because i wasnt going to put a single penny into the pockets of players who i considered to be vastly overpaid & under performing.Nothing whatsoever to do with our Chairmen from my point of view

FINE people were entitled to their views, and they are now.But others are entitled to disagree....

Having a different opinion that you and others clearly dont like isnt 'sneering'...

At the end of the day you will do what you wish, spend your money how you see fit,as we all have free will.

IF you feel its the right thing to do to buy a season ticket and attend S6  do it...Many will...

I was there Sat ,watched the semi Final, bought a 'membership' to get a ticket for the Final, went to Wembley so ime as big a chump as anyone else for that matter.....(did something i said i wouldn't do)

Finally there are many ways to 'support' SWFC not every fan can attend for a whole host of reasons WELL documented....doesnt mean you cant,or shouldn't have a voice in this discussion.

Unless of course we are back to the 'UBER' fan/supporter?

Everyone will have their own reasons for whether they renew or not. It would be good if as a fan base that we could respect other people’s decisions to do as they wish.

We do,and we are...its thread in a forum, and people are discussing the merits/pitfalls of renewing ST and at what stage?  At the end of the day people will do as they wish, dont we always?...

I like to watch a lot of sport and the current situation reminds me of a similar situation at Owlerton many years ago.

As a family, Thursday nights in the summer were speedway nights. Every Thursday. Without fail. No excuses.

Then, during the reign of one difficult promoter (equivalent of "chairman" in football parlance) the show gradually got worse and worse with each passing week. On one particular week, the crowd were restless after yet again, there were problems. This particular week, the starting gate didn't work (and not for the first time) and there was a delay of half an hour or so whilst they found an electrician to fix the problem.

The crowd's booing prompted the promoter to grab the announcer's mic "If you don't like it" he said angrily, "You know what to do".

So I did what to do - and it was unthinkable. I stopped going.

Sadly, promoters of late have tried really hard to draw crowds but, quite simply, once the habit of going every week has been broken, fans are lost forever.

I can see football and Sheffield Wednesday going the same way - once I decide not to renew the four season tickets that we as a family currently hold, it will be a long way back from there.

Very few of us 'know' other users...lol we make a comment based on their VIEWS and opinions,as they do ours......on every topic football & SWFC related.....THIS topic is probably the most important...

Isnt that how football forums work?????

What, that anyone who doesn’t agree with your own opinion is disgusting?

no, not in my life

Yep, players being overpaid and under performing was another reason those that dont go anyway use to use previously.

No they weren't. They were facing a winding up order which would have meant entering administration. Administration and going out of existence are two different things.

The only time to buy a Club is when the current owner is prepared to sell it. Chansiri currently isnt prepared to sell it.

Unfortunately, I dont think chanting Chansiri out, throwing tennis balls, not buying season tickets or putting up banners will encourage never mind force Chansiri to sell.

You don't think people protesting, asking him to leave or not spending any more on the club until he does so, will discourage him to stay just a little bit?

I will probably renew.

I dont want to give Chansiri any money but I can't give it up.

I go to the matches with my dad, we've been doing that since 1991, it's a me and my dad thing!

No matter how bad it gets, I'm not going to give up something I love doing with my dad just because of the clues fool running our club.

I love going to watch Sheffield Wednesday with my dad and Chansiri won't stop me doing that.

Sadly, I dont.

I think we are stuck with him until he gets board which will probably be after 4 or 5 seasons being in the lower half of League 1

He reckons he is propping us up with £2m per month - which is wrong because it fails to take into account any income. He has suffered 'cashflow issues', he reckons his family 'has suffered abuse', there have been protests at the ground during games and on non-match days - and we are facing almost certain relegation again.

Why on earth would he want to stay?

I don't know, I wouldn't stay.

But despite all that he has said he isn't selling.

Do you believe him?

Saying he's not saying could well be genuine - but people often say they aren't selling something - until they do.

interesting reading, I'd say it's pretty much 50/50 or 60/40 swing of people not renewing.

I keep saying I won't, then I think of what else will I do and I'll have to give up my season ticket seat. plus all me pals I sit with are renewing they've already said.

But the thought of paying £600 or whatever it will be in Grandstand is pitiful and not sure I can physically do it... we'll see.

That is meaningless. You don't have season ticket, so it is irrelevant whether you would renew or not.

His opinion isn’t irrelevant mate he is entitled to his view in a debate FFS even if we don’t agree As are those who wish to continue to buy ST

The entire thread is about people renewing their season tickets or not - his opening line is 'I don't have a season ticket - but if I did I would renew'. He lives in Lanzorote - so won't be buying a season ticket, how can somebody saying that they will renew - when they don't have a season ticket - and clearly won't be getting a season ticket - be relevant to a thread about renewing?

And why the FFS - instead of looking for an argument - read the post.

Posting same message day after day is pointless we know your view and suspect others know how rhey stand. In reality, it will depend on price and fortunes of team not on posts on forum.

True Owlstalk is NOT the wider fan base, but it’s a snap shot.If this is replicated across the wider fan base though that’s going to mean a lot of empty seats
